How To Customise A Template Without Code

The whole point of a premium template is that the hard work is already done. Making it your own is mostly swapping content and adjusting styles — all by dragging, clicking and typing in Framer. Most of that work is genuinely fast once you know the order to do it in: content first, then style, then structure, then a final pass before you publish. Here's how to take any template from 'looks like the demo' to 'looks like your brand'.

Replace the copy first

Start with words, not pixels. Click into each text layer and write your real headline, subtext and button labels. Strong, specific copy does more for conversion than any visual tweak, and it instantly makes the template feel like yours rather than a demo.

This is also the easiest stage to get wrong by overthinking it. Write a first draft of every section in one sitting, even if it's rough — a complete rough draft is far more useful than one perfectly polished headline sitting above nine empty placeholders.

Set your brand colours and fonts

Most premium templates use shared style tokens, so changing a few colour and text styles updates the whole site at once. Set your primary colour and heading font in one place and watch every section fall into line — no hunting through individual layers.

If your brand doesn't have defined colours yet, pick two: one neutral background tone and one accent colour for buttons and links. Resist adding a third or fourth colour until the rest of the site is finished — most sites that look chaotic have too many colours competing for attention, not too few.

Swap in your own images

Drag your own photos, product shots or screenshots over the placeholders. Keep them to a sensible size for the web so the page stays fast, and use a consistent style so the whole site feels coherent.

Consistency matters more than raw quality here. A set of photos that share the same lighting and crop style will look more professional than a mix of one polished studio shot next to three low-resolution screenshots. If you only have a few good images, it's better to reuse one well than to fill every slot with something mismatched.

Add or remove sections

Templates are modular. If you don't need a pricing section, delete it. If you want an extra testimonial, duplicate an existing block. Because the spacing and styles are already defined, new sections inherit the same polished look automatically.

Order matters as much as content. Visitors generally expect to see what you offer before they see pricing, and pricing before testimonials feels backwards. If you're unsure of the right order, look at how the template's own demo page sequences its sections — that order was usually chosen deliberately.

Adjust spacing so your content fits naturally

Templates are built around placeholder text length, so a much longer or shorter headline than the demo can throw spacing off slightly. A quick pass adjusting padding and line height after you've added real copy is normal — it's not a sign you've broken anything, just a sign your content is real.

Connect forms and any third-party tools you need

Most templates ship with a basic contact or waitlist form already wired up. If you use a specific email tool, CRM or analytics platform, connect it now rather than after launch — testing a form once with real settings in place is far easier than debugging it after visitors have already started filling it in.

Before you publish, check that:

  • Every link and button points where it should
  • The site looks right on mobile as well as desktop
  • Page titles and meta descriptions are filled in
  • Forms send to the right inbox or tool
  • Your custom domain is connected

That's the entire workflow — no CSS, no build tools, no developer. Customise, preview on both desktop and mobile, publish, and your site is live on a fast global network within seconds of hitting the button.

Yes sir, You get a Framer Remix link to your own copy of the template, so you can edit every page, section, and style directly in Framer. The Figma source file is included too.
